Laura Lively is passionate about arming consumers and small business owners with knowledge. With more than fifteen years of industry experience, Laura’s clients marvel at her breadth of knowledge and innate ability to break down fraud awareness into easy action tips that anyone can apply. In a refreshing twist, Laura adds wit to the education process, guaranteeing no one falls asleep.

Laura holds a Master's Degree in Economic Crime Management. She is an active member of the International Association of Financial Crime Investigators (IAFCI) and the Merchant Risk Council (Platinum). Laura has worked for two of the top banks in the United States before shifting gears and moving into the retail industry, focusing on working in a Card Not Present (CNP) environment, handling the operational aspects of Risk, Fraud Prevention and Collections for an upscale merchant with an on-line presence.

Laura is a graduate of Bill Gove’s Speech Workshop. She is also an active member of Toastmasters International. Laura has attained the designation of Advanced Communicator Bronze (ACB) and has also completed several years in leadership service with Toastmasters. In 2009, Laura was awarded the District 6 Area Governor of the Year, a prestigious award for outstanding service to her area and District 6 which covers Minnesota and part of Northwestern Ontario.

Apple Valley High School, MN
In conjunction with the Identity Theft Resource Center, Laura spoke to 120 High school students, informing them about fraud scams, identity theft and data security issues specific to young people and today's technology. She also spoke to 110 graduates, educating them about the fraud scams they are more susceptible to as they enter the workplace or begin college.

Brown College
Laura spoke to a group of 50 graduating Criminal Justice majors from a 2 year degree, educating them about fraud professions as well as how to protect themselves from identity theft issues.

Noontime Talkers Toastmasters
Speaking to a group of 20, Laura educated a group of professionals on how to guard against the latest fraud scams including work at home and remailing scams.  She also touched upon protecting yourself when participating in file sharing on the Internet.

Speaking to an intimate group of 25, Laura educated mystery readers and writers about financial crime and identity theft.

Speaking to an audience of 75 to 100 people Laura spoke jointly with the FBI Agent on identifying online fraud threats to the Office Business Center industry as it relates to their virtual clients.

Speaking to a group of 50 to 75 private bankers and their exclusive clientele Laura presented Protecting Yourself from Identity Theft and Avoiding Online Scams.

Together with other industry experts from the Merchant Risk Council, Laura presented a webinar to medium size ecommerce companies on how to protect themselves from fraud losses associated with Remailing/Reshipping Scams.
